New $5 million Canfield library opens 9 a.m. Monday

CANFIELD

The new $5 million Canfield public library, 43 W. Main St., will open to the public for business at 9 a.m. Monday, Janet Loew, communications and public relations director for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, announced this morning.

The grand opening ceremony will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at the new library, with an 11 a.m. ribbon cutting.

The new library, which will have a 65,000-item collection, will be more than three times larger than the branch that was demolished on the same site in the fall of 2014.
