Ohio senators announce medical marijuana listening tour

COLUMBUS — Ohio state Sens. Kenny Yuko, D-Richmond Heights, and Dave Burke, R-Marysville, announced their plan to host a series of town hall forums across the state to gather Ohioans’ opinions on medical marijuana.

“A Quinnipiac poll in October showed that 90 percent of Ohioans support medical marijuana," Yuko said. "I am hopeful that these town hall meetings will give many faces to the support we have seen in the polls.”

The senators will have a series of public town hall events in Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati and possibly Columbus. These events will provide an opportunity for Ohioans to share their opinions on medical marijuana. Ohio citizens are also encouraged to share their thoughts with the senators via letters or email.

Cleveland State University will host the first public forum at 10 a.m. Jan. 30 in the Gerald H. Gordon Conference Pavilion of the Wolstein Center. The exact dates, times and site locations for the other events will be announced later this week.
