Penguins get Hagelin in trade with Ducks
ANAHEIM, Calif.
The Anaheim Ducks have traded forward Carl Hagelin to the Pittsburgh Penguins for forward David Perron and defenseman Adam Clendening.
The Ducks announced the trade Friday night after their victory over Dallas.
Hagelin had four goals and eight assists in 43 games with the Ducks. Anaheim acquired him in an offseason trade with the New York Rangers for Emerson Etem, and then signed him to a four-year, $16 million contract.
The speedy Hagelin struggled to find a scoring groove with the Ducks, who have the NHL’s lowest-scoring offense by far this season.
Perron is a three-time 20-goal scorer who has only 16 points in 43 games this season with the Penguins. The physical left wing spent his first six NHL seasons with St. Louis. Pittsburgh acquired Perron from Edmonton for a 2015 first-round pick and Rob Klinkhammer last January.
Clendening has five points in 30 career NHL games.
Davis, Orioles agree to 7-year, $161M deal
BALTIMORE
Chris Davis and the Orioles are together again.
Multiple people with knowledge of the situation say Davis has agreed to a seven-year, $161 million contract with Baltimore, pending a physical.
The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Saturday because the Orioles have not announced the transaction.
The 29-year-old Davis has been with Baltimore since 2011. He hit a major-league leading 47 home runs and amassed 117 RBIs last year.
