The Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host its next pork-kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Cost is $9.50 for adults and $5 for children.

Meals will include dessert and coffee, tea or pop.

The public is welcome, and takeouts will be available.

Grief recovery series

Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home will sponsor its 52nd series of Grief Recovery Instructional Support Groups for anyone who has lost a loved one and is struggling with the pain of that loss.

The group will meet Tuesdays at 7 p.m. beginning this week at the funeral home’s care center at 709 N. Main St. in Hubbard.

Upon completion of the 10-week program, participants enter the secondary group that is designed to help people rebuild their lives over time. That group meets twice a month. For information contact the funeral home at 330-534-1952.

Sweetheart event

Joe Propri will be the featured speaker at this year’s Sweetheart Extravaganza to take place Jan. 30 at Das Dutch Village Inn banquet hall.

The topic will be “Restoring Your First Love,” and the event is being sponsored by Men of Faith.

Shopping Local Pays thanks to Chamber

Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce, 333 N. Main St., is offering a Shopping Local Pays program, which offers incentive to shop at Columbiana retail stores.

The monthly program has participants save receipts from stores in the zip code 44408, excluding grocery and gas. Upon reaching a $100 expenditure, participants will turn in the receipts to the chamber office for the opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate from a Columbiana Chamber member merchant. Receipts can be collected through the first and last day of each month, and must be turned into the chamber office by the seventh of the following month.
