The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating whether a northwest Ohio man involved in a fatal crash may have had a medical condition.

The patrol said 53-year-old Todd J. Reber of Milan died about 9 a.m. Saturday after what may have been a heart attack. Neither drugs nor alcohol was suspected.

Authorities said Reber had just gotten into his pickup truck at a Perkins Township business and begun to cross the parking lot when he appeared to lose control.

The truck struck three parked vehicles – two other pickups and an SUV – hit a concrete barrier, hopped a curb and dropped about a foot-and-a-half onto Perkins Road. It continued across the road and struck another obstacle before coming to rest.

An investigation into the accident continues.
