Chamber accepts registration for leadership academy
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is accepting registration for its Mahoning Valley Local Government Leadership Academy.
The nine-week series helps people become effective government leaders and gives class participants a broad perspective of how local government operations should be conducted.
The classes will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 26 through March 22. The cost for the academy is $265.

Chamber schedules ‘Power Luncheon’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Power Luncheon” at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St. from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The luncheons are for networking with other area professionals.

VAST lunch event
WARREN
The Valley Alliance for Science and Technology will have a luncheon at the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center, 125 W. Market St., from 12 to 1:15 p.m. Friday.
This month’s featured speaker will be Bill Whittenberger, founder of Camet and Catacel, and now site and technology director for Johnson Matthey Process Technologies in Ravenna.
The luncheon is free for VAST members and $25 for nonmembers. RSVP by emailing rose@tbeic.org.
Business showcase planned by chamber
COLUMBIANA
The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will have a business showcase on Jan. 26 for residents and business owners.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic, 8100 Race Road.

Nominate for community awards
COLUMBIANA
The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes individuals, groups and businesses that make a positive difference in the community with its Community Awards program.
Nominations are needed. Criteria for nominations and nomination forms can be found at the chamber offices, 333 N. Main St., and at www.columbianachamber.com. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 25.
Honorees will be awarded at the 63rd annual awards banquet at The Links at Firestone Farms Banquet Center on Feb. 28. Banquet reservations can be made by calling the chamber office at 330-482-3822.
