A man and woman have been found dead in a vehicle that authorities say got stuck in a creek and apparently was left idling with its tailpipe submerged.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office told WCMH-TV they received a 911 call shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday about a possible injury accident near Plain City.
When crews arrived, they found a Jeep with the bodies of 29-year-old Trevor Zimmerman of Plain City and 21-year-old Sarah Lee of Marysville inside.
Investigators said the two had been four-wheeling in area fields when they tried to cross the creek and got lodged against the embankment. They remained inside and left the vehicle idling while waiting for a tow truck.
Their causes of death will be determined by the Franklin County coroner.
