2015 housing sales positive for Valley

The year brought positive housing figures for all three counties in the Mahoning Valley.

For the year, Mahoning County saw an increase of 19.8 percent in pending sales; closed sales increased by 14.1 percent, and new listings increased by 8.2 percent, according to data recently released by the Youngstown/Columbiana Association of Realtors.

The average sale price for the year increased by 1.7 percent in the county from $102,832 to $104,595.

In Trumbull County, pending sales increased by 10.4 percent, closed sales increased by 8.3 percent and new listings decreased by 2.5 percent, according to data released by the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

The average sale price went up 6.3 percent from $88,472 to $94,048.

For the year, Columbiana County saw an 8.8 percent increase in pending sales, a 2.4 percent increase in closed sales and a 3.2 percent increase in new listings.

The county’s average sale price for the year dropped slightly by 1.1 percent from $104,080 to $102,916.

In Mahoning County, December brought a 37.2 percent increase in pending sales, a 6.1 percent decrease in closed sales and a 9.7 percent drop in new listings.

The average sale price increased by 8.5 percent during the month.

In December, pending closings increased by 30.6 percent, closed sales increased by 4.5 percent and new listings decreased by 12.2 percent in Columbiana County.

The average sale price during December dropped by 7.6 percent.

In Trumbull County, December showed a 1.4 percent increase in pending sales, a 1.2 percent increase in closed sales and a 23.3 percent decrease in new listings.

The average sale price dropped 0.5 percent during the month.
