Youngstown police find assault weapons and drugs in Idora home

YOUNGSTOWN

The police department’s vice squad arrested two men at their home after they said they found four guns, including two assault rifles, and suspected bags of crack cocaine.

Shun Moreland, 43, and Antwan Irby, 40, both of Idora Avenue, are in the Mahoning County jail pending a Friday arraignment. Both were charged Wednesday with felony counts of having weapons under disability and possession of drugs, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A police report said both are convicted felons and not permitted to possess guns.

Police said a loaded .40-caliber handgun was in the freezer while the other three – an M16 assault rifle, a .45-caliber assault rifle and a 9mm handgun – were found in closets. Also, police said they found a bag of .45-caliber ammunition and two bags of suspected crack cocaine.
