Struthers man gets prison term for theft, breaking and entering, burglary

YOUNGSTOWN — A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to four years and 11 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to 15 counts of theft, two counts of breaking and entering and one count of burglary.

The 42-year-old woman he lived with on Riley Avenue in Struthers, who was his co-defendant, was sentenced to three years of probation after she pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft, two counts of breaking and entering and one count of burglary.

Timothy A. Esposito drew the prison time, and Tara J. Meta drew the probation sentence, today from Judge Lou A. D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

The prosecution agreed to recommend probation for Meta with completion of the in-house rehabilitation program at the Community Corrections Association and with her agreement to testify truthfully against Esposito had he gone on trial.

The prosecution recommended six years in prison for Esposito, who pleaded guilty nine days later.
