BOARDMAN
Second Sole, 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, hosted its inaugural What We’re Thankful 4-Miler, a Thanksgiving Day road race. Over 500 runners participated in the race that began and ended at the Boardman YMCA.
Second Sole donated $2,500 to Livestrong at the YMCA and $2,500 to Second Harvest Food Bank through race fees and contributions. Livestrong will use the funds to provide cancer survivors with counseling, exercise and diet plans, and financial support. The contribution to Second Harvest will allow the food bank to distribute 27,500 meals.
Second Sole also collected more than 1,000 pounds of perishable food for Second Harvest, which provided approximately 840 meals.
