Settlement reached with South Range board over open meeting violations

NORTH LIMA

Richard Ferenchak and South Range Board of Education members reached an agreement at today’s status conference over open meeting law violations.

Ferenchak said in order to save additional money being used in the litigation he agreed to go through with the original settlement: The board will pay a $500 statutory fine, pay Ferenchak’s legal fee and admit a violation was committed.

“I accepted it just for it to be over and done with,” Ferenchak said.

Ferenchak said he is ready to put this chapter behind him, but will continue to hold board members accountable for their actions.
