Police said a person was killed and three others injured after a two-car accident at about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday.

Officer Brian Booksing of the department’s accident investigation unit said a car driving south on Market Street with three people inside tried to turn left onto West LaClede Avenue and collided with another car that was traveling north on Market Street.

A front-seat passenger in the southbound car was killed, Booksing said.

The other three people involved in the accident were all taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Booksing said the department was waiting for the Mahoning County Coroner’s office to release the name of the person who died.

Semi slides off I-80

AUSTINTOWN

A semi-truck slid off Interstate 80 early Tuesday morning due to the area’s snowy and icy conditions.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials said the truck slid off the right side between state Route 46 and Meander Reservoir.

The truck was moved off the road so traffic was not blocked, but kept off to the side because roads weren’t in good condition to move it.

There were no injuries reported.
