Second fire finishes off Rush Boulevard house

A fire at a vacant 3116 Rush Blvd. house early today is the second there within a month, according to fire reports.

Crews were called to the home about 4:25 a.m. and found the home engulfed in flames, fire reports said. Because of the advanced state of the flames, firefighters allowed the home to burn while protecting homes on both sides.

Reports said there was another fire at the home on Dec. 15.

Damage is estimated at $8,800, a total loss. There were no injuries. Reports list the cause as under investigation.
