Police investigate break-in at vacant house in Girard

GIRARD

Police are investigating an incident reported Monday of breaking and entering at a vacant home.

A man reported to police that the basement of an Olive Street home had been ransacked and that a knife had been stuck into a kitchen counter. A police report states that the point of entry appears to have been a side door and that marks indicate that someone attempted to pry open the front door.

The home’s owner, who inherited the property, said the house has been vacant since his aunt’s death.
