YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested four people on heroin-related charges over the weekend, and reports said they had their hands full with two suspected heroin addicts Saturday.

Reports said one woman refused to get out of her car and had to be dragged out, and another jumped out a window when police came to her parents’ house.

About noon Saturday, police were called to an East Indianola Avenue home, where officers were told by a couple that their daughter, Isha Moss, 31, was taking heroin and they wanted police to help stop her from doing so.

Reports said when officers Russell Davis and Dave Wilson arrived, the woman ran upstairs to a bathroom, locked the door then jumped out a window. She was found outside by police and taken into custody.

A records check revealed Moss has five warrants from municipal court, including three for theft, and another warrant for theft from Howland police. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital where she is expected to be released to police when her treatment is completed.

About 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police pulled over a car driven by Sarah Markulin, 28, of Youngstown for an improper turn and when officers approached, it looked like Markulin was trying to hide something, reports said.

When police walked up to the car, they saw a needle in plain sight and asked Markulin to step out of the car. Reports said she refused to get out and an officer had to open the door.

Even after the door was opened, Markulin still refused to get out. Reports said an officer had to take her by the hand and drag her out of the car. When she was searched, police found a dose of suspected heroin and three needles.

Markulin was taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a burnt spoon that was found, possession of a drug-abuse instrument and resisting arrest.

On Friday, Pamela Morgan, 44, of Niles, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after she was pulled over about 11:20 p.m. at West Ravenwood Avenue and Market Street after making an improper turn.

Reports said when an officer walked up to her door, she concealed her hand within her sleeve, and when an officer told her to take her hand out of the sleeve, there was a crack pipe in her sleeve.

Reports said Morgan was then taken into custody and she had suspected heroin inside three pieces of wax paper and another dose of suspected heroin in her purse, as well as a used needle in her bra. She was taken to the county jail but they refused to accept her because of an infection on her leg, reports said.

Reports said she was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to be treated for the infection before being taken back to the jail.

About 7:20 p.m. Friday, police pulled over a car driven by Kevin Henderson, 27, of Youngstown, after it drove the wrong way down Hillman Avenue and almost hit a cruiser with officers Jessica Shields, Mohammad Awad and Shields’ police dog Hector inside.

Reports said the car quickly turned onto Carroll Street and stopped in a drive. Inside, reports said Henderson was moving around like he was trying to hide something.

Reports said Henderson told police he was looking for his phone but he also has a warrant from the Trumbull County sheriff’s office and was driving with a suspended license so he was taken into custody, reports said.

When he was being booked into the jail, police found three bags of suspected heroin in his pants leg, reports said. Henderson was charged with possession of heroin, driving under suspension and the warrant.
