House fire causes total loss in Poland; resident not injured

The resident of a home in the 3000 block of East Western Reserve Road in Poland Township escaped without injury from his burning home early Sunday after being roused by a passerby who noticed the fire.

The blaze, which caused officials to temporarily close part of Western Reserve Road between Youngstown Pittsburgh Road and Five Points, ignited at 6 a.m., reported 21 WFMJ-TV. The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Fire crews from Poland Township, Poland Village, Springfield Township, New Middletown, and Beaver Township assisted in controlling the fire.

Officials said the house is a total loss. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
