Charges follow accident in Boardman

BOARDMAN

A McDonald man faces an impaired-driving charge after allegedly causing an accident with injuries on Market Street at Washington Boulevard Saturday.

John Kennedy was cited for failure to yield right of way at an intersection, failure to obey a traffic control device and operating a vehicle while impaired for the incident, to which police responded at 6:15 p.m.

The crash sent a family of three to the hospital with some minor injuries.

Interviews with Kennedy and witnesses indicated that Kennedy failed to stop at a stop sign before turning onto Market from Washington, causing a vehicle in oncoming traffic to hit him, according to a police report.

Kennedy refused a blood-alcohol test.
