Returning as host is snarky Ricky Gervais, who is always at his best when he takes a needle to the most bloated celebrity egos.

“Shameless” (9 p.m., Showtime): The gloriously dysfunctional Gallagher clan returns for Season 6 of “Shameless.” It begins with Frank (William H. Macy) mourning the loss of his lover, Bianca, and going on a spiritual quest that freaks out his family.

NEO Geo artists to present talks

AKRON

The Akron Art Museum will host a series of artists’ talks to enhance the experience of NEO Geo, an exhibition showcasing works of geometric abstraction from artists in northern Ohio.

Three of the artists in NEO Geo will lead unique gallery tours, focusing on works in the museum collection that speak to their own artistic sensibilities and backgrounds.

The tours are scheduled during the museum’s Free Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

The first will be led by Kristina Paabus on Jan. 28.

Erik Neff, a painter and sculptor, will present his views Feb. 25.

Sculptor Paul O’Keeffe will present the third tour April 21.

In addition to the tours, the museum will host an artists’ discussion March 31 at 6:30 p.m. between NEO Geo artists Gianna Commito, Amy Sinbondit and Neff.

They will be joined by New York artist Amy Yoes for a discussion of the role that geometric abstraction plays in their artistic practices.

The exhibit closes April 24.
