Ockers mark 50th anniversary at dinner in Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ocker of Boardman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a dinner at the Swiss Hotel in Sonoma, Calif., on Dec. 26.

The observance was hosted by the couple’s children, Mark (Laura) Ocker of Portland, Ore., and Terri (Michael) Metzger of San Rafael, Calif., and their grandchildren, Jenica and Sheadon Ocker and Marley Metzger.

Mrs. Ocker, the former Sally Griffith, and Mr. Ocker were married Nov. 27, 1965, at Trinity Methodist Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Ocker was a fourth-grade teacher with Struthers schools for many years before retiring.

Her husband served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and is retired from American Welding where he was a process engineer.
