NOAS has free adoption, foster education classes
Staff report
WARREN
Northeast Ohio Adoption Services will host free adoption and foster care pre-placement education classes for Ohio couples or singles starting Saturday.
Those who have been considering becoming a foster or adoptive parent and adults older than 21 are invited to learn more about Ohio children and teens served by the child welfare system while waiting for the love, stability, and happy family life of a permanent home.
The informative sessions continue through Feb. 2 at the NOAS offices, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26. Participants will learn more about the care, commitment and strategies helpful for raising foster or adopted children.
Sign up for the classes is required by Thursday by calling Cindy Wallis at 800-686-6627, ext. 126. There are makeup classes available for participants unable to attend certain sessions.
NOAS is a private, nonprofit agency for Ohio families who live within 90 minutes of the Warren office. NOAS does not charge fees to families for adoption.
Since 1978, NOAS has developed families for over 1,200 children and teens. For information on its services, visit www.noas.com.
