Lent, a season of spiritual renewal, begins Ash Wednesday, which is Feb. 10. Forty days is a traditional number of discipline, devotion and preparation in the Bible. Lent also lasts for 40 days, excluding Sundays.
A listing of Ash Wednesday services and other Lenten programs will be published Feb. 6. Deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Feb. 3.

St. John Chrysostom
STRUTHERS
The Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown Warren Chapter, will present “Does the Catholic Church in the United States Need Married Priests?” at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Church, 764 Fifth St., Christ Our Savior Parish.
Speaker will be the Rev. Bernard “Bob” R. Bonnot, pastor, who is a chapter member and serves as chairman of the Leadership Team of the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests.
The Society of St. John Chrysostom is an ecumenical organization of Catholic and Orthodox clergy and laity working to make known the history, worship, spirituality, disciple and theology of Eastern Christendom.

Play to be staged

“GodSaidIt Productions” will present a stage play, “It’s In The Process!: From Chosen to the Manifested Purpose,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Sword of the Lord Global Ministries, 474 Early Road.

Dialogue on racism
YOUNGSTOWN
A dialogue on racism will be featured after a brief service at 6 p.m. Friday at Congregation Rodef Sholom, 1119 Elm St., for a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King program.
Rabbi Franklin Muller will interview Dario Hunter, a newly elected member of Youngstown Board of Education.
He is the son of an Iranian Muslim and African-American Christian and a rabbi.
