Masses for Life planned
YOUNGSTOWN
Bishop George V. Murry will celebrate two diocesan Masses for Life this month.
Masses will be at noon next Saturday at St. Paul Parish, 241 S. Main St., North Canton, and at 4 p.m. Jan. 24 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St. The Mass at the cathedral will be preceded by a Holy Hour for Life from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Following each Mass for Life, there will be a reception including an “Expo” of respect life information.
At each Mass, expectant mothers, fathers and their families will be invited to receive a blessing for their unborn babies. The “Blessing of a Child in the Womb” was created to encourage prayer and recognition of the child in the womb and to foster respect for human life within society. There will be a blessing of pilgrims attending the March for Life on Jan. 22 in Washington, D.C., to remember the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.
All are welcome; no reservations are needed. Donations are appreciated. For information, call the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Life at 330-744-8451.
