Ohio man charged with shooting 2-year-old boy in Dayton due in court

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man is due in court to face charges that he fired shots at a car, a 2-year-old boy in the head with a bullet.

Montgomery County court records show 20-year-old Nickolai Gray Jr. has an appearance scheduled Thursday. He’s in jail on $500,000 bond.

He was jailed Dec. 29 on six charges, including four counts of felonious assault.

The clerk’s records didn’t show an attorney listed for Gray.

Dayton Children’s Hospital said the child, Christian Green, was in serious condition Wednesday. He had been hospitalized initially in critical condition.

Police say several shots were fired at a car that subsequently crashed into a tree on Christmas Eve in Dayton. Police say the suspect had a dispute with a passenger.
