The Boardman library transformed one of their activity rooms into an area for guests to come and make crafts for the holidays on Dec. 12.

Librarian Alli Graff monitored the event while children and other guests came in and made their different projects for the holidays.

Crafts available for the children to make included filter snowflakes, book cover bows, paper candy canes, wreaths made out of yarn and paper plates and Christmas ornament CDs.

Children came in and out of the room throughout the event, which lasted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and made several different items to take home.

“This is my favorite one, the book cover bows. You have all these strips and make figure eights with them and keep building them onto each other,” said Graff. The book cover bows was a craft for those who wanted to try something more advanced, but Graff was willing to help with those who couldn’t quite get the hang of it.

Even though there were instructors at each craft station, the children were encouraged to make whatever they wanted.

Some of the children made their own crafts out of the supplies.

The children went from station to station and used the supplies provided to create their own masterpieces.

This event gave the opportunity for families to get together and be creative.

Graff had a few books out and Christmas music playing to get the children in the Christmas spirit.
