Judge appoints longtime Valley business exec to Mill Creek MetroParks board
YOUNGSTOWN
Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr. on Wednesday announced the appointment of Michael S. Senchak, longtime Mahoning Valley business executive, to serve as a commissioner for Mill Creek MetroParks.
Senchak replaces Atty. Louis Schiavoni, whose term expired in December. Senchak’s three-year term will run from January 2016 through December 2018.
Senchak has been involved in the health-care field his entire professional career. He owns First Light Home Care of the Valley, a nonmedical home-care company that serves clients and families in the tri-county area. Senchak also serves as president and CEO of the Mahoning Valley Hospital Foundation and on the Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley Community Leadership Council.
Previous board memberships include the Mahoning County Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services Board, Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
He earned undergraduate degrees in business and nursing and a master’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
Senchak lives in Canfield with his wife, Jeanne. They have two children, Michael Senchak and Kimberly Berg, and a grandchild, Gabriella.
“Mike is a person that is going to bring a lot of passion and a wealth of professional experience in running large public and private organizations that will help the park navigate into the future. Mike is an extremely hard-working, focused individual that only gets involved with things that he truly believes in and can make a positive impact with,” Judge Rusu said in a release.
Senchak joins commissioners John Ragan, Germaine Bennett, Scott Schulick and Dr. Robert Durick.
