Assault charges

BOARDMAN

A township woman faces assault charges after police said she attacked her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend at their Oregon Trail apartment Tuesday night.

Cheyenne Rowbotham, 19, of Melbourne Avenue, is charged with criminal damaging, aggravated trespass and two counts of misdemeanor assault.

Police charged one of the purported victims, Zachary Hanna, 21, with possession of drug paraphernalia after officers reportedly found drug-related items at his apartment after responding to the assault call.

Both are scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here today.

Jailed on drug charge

YOUNGSTOWN

A Smithfield Street man is in the Mahoning County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond after being arraigned before municipal Judge Robert Milich Wednesday on a drug charge.

Raymond Hammond, 30, was arrested about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 680 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Reports say a trooper pulled over a car Hammond was driving because it was weaving all over the road, and the trooper smelled burnt marijuana inside the car.

When Hammond was searched, he had three pills concealed in his hand that he tried to throw away, the report states.

State of the county

WARREN

Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka gave a 30-minute presentation Wednesday that he called his “State of the County” address, in which he reviewed projects that the county commissioners were involved in during 2015 and issues that will continue into 2016.

CSEA moving Monday

WARREN

The Trumbull County Child Support Enforcement Agency is moving this weekend to its new offices one block east and one block south of its present location. CSEA is a division of the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services. The CSEA offices will be at 159 E. Market St., Suite 200, adjacent to the Talmer Bank building starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Office hours will remain the same.

Signage will be posted at the old building, 106 High Street NW on Courthouse Square, to alert clients of the move.

Master gardener applications available

Anyone interested in gardening and helping others is invited to apply to become an Ohio State University Extension master gardener volunteer. Classes will begin March 9 and finish May 11. They take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Tuition is $125. To apply, visit go.osu.edu/2016class.
