FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


TODAY

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell takeout cavatelli dinners with homemade sauce from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Meal also includes two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will cost $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 a quart and pasta sauce for $5 a quart. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will sell homemade dinners to go. Starting at 3:30 until the drive-through runs out, meals of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will cost $6. Drive to the front of the church; there’s no need to preorder or get out of your car.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. A stuffed chicken breast comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie for $8 each meal.

FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 8 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up Friday beginning at noon.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will sponsor a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will feature chicken pie, potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Meals are free for preschoolers, and takeouts will be available.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations will be accepted, and proceeds will go to World Service projects.

SUNDAY

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus 3930 is sponsoring a pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parish center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Beverages also will be served. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Prices are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own.

VFW Newton Falls Post 3332 Auxiliary will have a breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the banquet hall, 433 Arlington Road. All proceeds will benefit local veterans and veterans programs. Cost is $7 per person, and children under 4 eat for free. Meal includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and orange juice, coffee and tea.

TUESDAY

Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, will have a drive-through ham dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The meal includes red-skin parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce and a brownie. A $7 donation is requested.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will be selling 15-inch pepperoni rolls for $8, potato and chicken noodle soup for $5 a quart and $3 a pint, large loaves of bread for $2 and small loaves for $1.50, four sticky buns for $2.50 and six pieces of baklava for $4 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16. Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will sponsor a takeout dinner of homemade creamed chicken on biscuits from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Jan. 23. Advance orders may be made by calling 330-856-4202 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays until Jan. 15. Walk-ins also will be welcome. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Meals also will include mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert.

Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., Brookfield, will sponsor a ham loaf and meatloaf dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 16. Menu includes potatoes, green beans, applesauce and cookies. Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its monthly drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out on Jan. 14. Leave your name, phone number, the number of dinners you want and approximate time you will arrive. Drive up to the door and someone will take the dinners to your car. A percentage of the profits is used for local mission projects.

Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will have a chicken noodle soup dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 17. The menu will feature all-you-can-eat chicken noodle soup, one-half baked chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, dessert and coffee. Cost is $12.99 plus tax for adults, and $6.50 plus tax for children 6 to 12. Meals are free to those 5 and under. Takeout service also will be available.
