Colorblind Canfield student sees colors for first time


CANFIELD — Canfield High School’s tenth-grade math teacher helped a student see the bigger picture – and all of the colors in it.

Emily Hrima, the sophomore who suffers from color-blindness, used her EnChroma Glasses to find her new favorite color she never knew existed – purple. Emily’s parents worked together with math teacher Carl Pennington to give her the most-interesting Christmas gift of the class.

Emily said her tinted-looking glasses gave her a view into so many things she could never see before yet left her at a loss for words.
