Cincinnati faces revenue plan deadline for new streetcars
CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati officials will have until the beginning of February to come up with revenue projections for the city’s new streetcar system.
The regional transit authority in the Cincinnati area says it set the deadline to help keep the streetcar system on track to open this fall.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the head of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority says any changes in the budget would force the agency to rework a contract with a private company that will run and repair the streetcars.
One issue still being debated is what will be the operating hours for the streetcars on Cincinnati’s 3.6-mile route.
