NY women face felony charges after arrest in Boardman
BOARDMAN — Two New York women face felony charges after police said they attempted to obtain phone service Monday from a Verizon store on Boardman-Poland Road using a stolen identity.
Jacey Casado, 21, is charged with felony theft for the incident. Virginia Gutierrez, 35, is charged with felony counts of identity fraud, theft and forgery.
The charges stem from an incident in which Gutierrez purportedly attempted to add three iPhone 6s Plus phones to an account, using a counterfeit driver's license with the name of a Verizon account holder. Store employees and police made contact with the account holder, who reportedly lives in Illinois; she confirmed that her information was being used fraudulently.
Police also found a credit card on Gutierrez that was in the name of the identity fraud victim.
