Mother, daughter apparently slain

MINFORD, Ohio

Authorities say a mother and her 16-year-old daughter found dead in their mobile home in a southern Ohio village apparently were shot.

The discovery in Minford, in Scioto County about 90 miles south of Columbus, was reported Monday morning by a relative. There are no suspects or motive yet.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini tells the Portsmouth Daily Times the victims were 48-year-old Candice Newsome and daughter Kristina Newsome.
