Design Review Committee OKs mural for North Side building

YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s Design Review Committee approved a proposal from the So So’s Lounge, 232 North Ave., to have artist Christian Mrosko paint a mural on the front of its building.

Mrosko has painted murals on a building near the Market Street Bridge and another near the Youngstown Playhouse on Glenwood Avenue. He told the committee today the So So mural on the North Side will be done in about a month. It will be inspired by Ernie Barnes’ “Sugar Shack” dance painting used in the closing credits of the 1970s TV show “Good Times.”
