Warren police investigating houses shot at Sunday
WARREN — Police are investigating gunfire at 1 a.m. Sunday that hit the front of eight houses on Southern and Northwest boulevards and Commerce Avenue Northwest. No one was injured.
A resident in the 1100 block of Southern said she was standing in the kitchen when she heard gunshots, then heard glass breaking and saw that her front window was broken.
Police said a bullet went through two interior walls and hit a kitchen shelving unit and dropped to the floor. Police found another bullet in the road in front of the house.
Callers said a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, pickup truck and van were seen leaving the area at high speed.
A resident of the 2900 block of Northwest Boulevard said he heard multiple gunshots going off and heard something hit the front of the house. Police recovered a bullet from the front of the house.
The front storm door and front door had been hit in the 1000 block of Commerce. A single gunshot went through the front of a house in the 3100 block of Northwest that landed next to the house.
Two shots hit another home in the 3100 block of Northwest, and six casings were found in the road and sidewalk area, police said.
Another resident of the 3100 block of Northwest said he heard he gunshots and later saw that a bullet had traveled into the bedroom where he was lying down.
The front storm door was shattered, and the bullet traveled through the front steel door at a house in the 3200 block of Northwest Boulevard. Two bullet holes were found in a house in the 2900 block of Northwest Boulevard.
