Warren man wounded in gun play at his home
WARREN — A 28-year-old Plymouth Place Northeast man was shot in the chest in an apparent gun battle with one of four men masked who broke into his house at 1:40 a.m. Saturday.
He was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital. His condition was not available.
The man’s girlfriend said she heard a noise and handed her handgun to him. He opened the locked bedroom door and saw four masked men standing there.
The victim and one of the other men fired their guns simultaneously at each other, with the victim falling down, and the four men fleeing, the woman said.
The victim said he fired one shot but thinks he missed.
The woman said the home’s doors are normally locked, and a two-by-four is placed in front of both the front and back door. Police said only one two-by-four was found — in front of the back door. Police found no point of entry.
