Man tells police complicated story after he was shot in the foot

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said a 23-year-old man was shot in the foot Sunday afternoon at Dogwood and Rosewood lanes on the East Side.

Police were called to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital about 3:50 p.m., where reports said the victim told officers he got out of his car to visit a friend when he heard several gunshots and felt pain in his foot.

The man then drove to his home on Scioto Avenue, where he was driven to the hospital by a family member.

The victim told police the car he was driving was a rental and the person he borrowed it from picked it up before he went to the hospital.

Reports said the man had a gunshot wound on the top of his foot.
