City police arrest man after suspected heroin OD at CCA

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who reports said overdosed on heroin late Saturday at the Community Corrections Association on Market Street was arrested in a warrant and cited for possessing drug abuse instruments.

Police were called about 11:55 p.m. and found Stanley "Stan The Man" Palmer, 26, being treated by paramedics in a shower room at the 1608 Market St. facility.

Reports said CCA staff told police that after Palmer returned from work he had spent a lot of time in the shower.

When staff went to check on him they found Palmer slumped over a toilet with a needle and spoon in his hands, reports said.

Palmer was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment with a police hold after officers found out Palmer has a warrant from municipal court for driving under suspension.
