Ohio Politics Dates to remember

If you’re planning to follow Ohio politics in 2016, here are five dates to put on your calendar:

Feb. 9: New Hampshire primary; Gov. John Kasich’s presidential hopes likely are riding on his showing there.

March 15: Ohio is among five states having a presidential primary. Ohio’s U.S. Senate nominations also will be decided.

July 18: Republican National Convention begins in Cleveland. Conventions are usually well-orchestrated party pep rallies, but a still-large Republican presidential field with its maverick candidates could mean a brokered convention.

Sept. 26: Wright State University in Dayton hosts the first general-election presidential debate.

Nov. 8: General election; Ohio likely again will be crucial nationally.
