Column failed to go far enough on life of Jesus

The recent col- umn, “Jesus is still one of a kind,” published in the Dec. 24 Vindicator doesn’t go far enough in proving that Jesus really existed. All the atheists in the world can’t tell us how the world was created and why millions of Christians say that Jesus changed their lives.

I didn’t believe either for many years after going to church and leaving as a teenager to find satisfaction in life. After 14 years of searching and emptiness, I decided if there was a God He would answer me if I just asked Him to reveal Himself to me. I prayed that prayer when I was 28 and for two years, God sent people to me to tell me about Jesus.

I met a former co-worker who had so dramatically changed that I asked him what happened to him. He just said that it was Jesus who changed him. After that I would argue with Christians and laugh at them as well. One day when I was about 30, I found a tract on the sidewalk in the Bronx that explained salvation and why only Jesus could save me and change my life. Two weeks later I read it and received Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

My family, friends and co-workers immediately knew that I had changed and was a different person. I was called to preach the gospel in New York City and the borough of the Bronx for 15 years before being called to Youngstown, Ohio.

All anyone has to do is to pray to the Creator and ask Him if Jesus is real, and Jesus will reveal Himself to anyone who seeks Him with all of their heart. I always tell unbelievers that if they looked for Jesus the way they look for other things in their lives, they would have found Him a long time ago. He is real and I found that out 37 years ago and have never turned back to a life of useless emptiness!

Loss of morals in America paves way for nuclear war

What kind of “protection” does our nation really have from a nuclear war when after 2,000 years of Christianity, America can no longer protect itself with ethics and morals? “Why not” a nuclear war? “Why not” a race war? Gun control or even a treaty with Iran doesn’t answer the question “why not?”

Christians are having to go to court for the very ethics and morals that are meant as a protection from self-destruction. When Christians explain why “not,” Hillary Clinton calls them terrorists.

Hollywood is celebrating a new “nudity” trend just to prove there is no longer any limitations on human behavior. It all comes back to ethics and morals. A pagan society can no longer answer the “why not.”

So expect violence and self-destruction to increase. I would expect that first nuclear bomb to go boom sooner rather than later.
