“Torah Studies for Christians” will be presented by Rabbi Saul Oresky of Congration Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Torah and the Rev. George Balasko, co-founder of “Jewish/Christian Dialogue” with the late Rabbi Samuel Meyer of Temple El Emeth in Liberty.
Co-sponsors are Jewish/Christian Studies Youngstown and the B’nai B’rith Guardian of the Menorah.
This Bible education series is a chance for Christians to reflect on Scriptures with a rabbi.
A session is planned from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center.

Rabbi Oresky has served as rabbi of the congregation in Boardman since August 2014. He was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in June 2013. He is a lifelong Jewish educator and also has served as a journalist, technical writer and editor.
Father Balasko is the founder, general editor and producer of a continuing education program in cooperation with Abba House Communications, and for more than 20 years has served as host and producer of the “Jewish/Christian Dialogue” network TV series that airs in several markets around the world.
Clergy breakfast

ACTION plans a clergy breakfast from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, where the Rev. Dave Kamphuis will be host pastor.
The Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing our Neighborhoods will present an open dialogue on “Sacred Conversations on Racism.” There will be a guest facilitator.

Blessing of waters

Eastern Orthodox Clergy Association of Mahoning Valley will conduct a blessing of the waters at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Glacier at Mill Creek MetroParks.
First Friday Club

Sister Maureen McCarthy will speak when the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown meets Thursday at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.
She serves in leadership as a member of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown. Her topic will be “Spirituality for Active People.”

Christmas services

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., which follows the Julian calendar, will celebrate Christmas with Christmas Eve matins and blessing of the yule log at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Christmas Day liturgy at 10 a.m. Thursday.
