Police said one man was grazed in the head by a bullet in one of two Wednesday afternoon shootings on the East Side.
Reports said the man was wounded after he was jumped about 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a Gluck Street apartment complex.
The victim said he was in the parking lot when the men attacked him, and one of the men who had a gun fired a shot and took his cellphone.
The men then got into an SUV and drove away, reports said.
Police searched two nearby apartments for any sign of the suspects after witnesses said they may have run into a building, but no one was found.
Campbell police also were on hand to assist city police. The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
About 6 p.m., police were called to the 1300 block of Dryden Avenue for a report of gunfire. Reports said when officers arrived they found bullet holes in a front window and a car in front of the home also was damaged by gunfire.
Witnesses inside told police they were in the kitchen when they heard gunfire, and dived to the floor to get out of the way of the bullets.
Outside, officers collected 19 empty shell casings, and a spent bullet also was found inside a wall underneath a kitchen cabinet, reports said.
No one was injured in that shooting.
Police Chief Robin Lees said Thursday that investigators do not believe the two shootings are related.
