“Gotham” (8 p.m., Fox): It’s time to chill out with “Gotham” as the show returns for its midseason premiere and introduces a new baddie – Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow). He’s a coldhearted cryogenics expert who apparently wants to bring a wintry gloom to the city.

“The Voice” (8 p.m., NBC): “The Voice” returns for its 10th season as Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams plop back into the hot seats. Here’s hoping they can finally find a vocalist that we’ll actually remember.

“Blindspot” (10 p.m., NBC): “Blindspot” is finally back with fresh episodes and, yes, they’re still trying to find out what Jane’s (Jaimie Alexander) crazy body art all means.

Jewish composers’ efforts will be topic

YOUNGSTOWN

Randall Goldberg, assistant professor of music history at Youngstown State University, will give a free presentation on the role Jewish composers played in spreading news about the plight of Jews in Europe in the aftermath of the 1903 Kishineff Pogrom.

The presentation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, and is open to the public. It will include live and recorded musical examples from Jewish sheet music and 78 rpm records.

Comedy night at M Gallery

YOUNGSTOWN

M Gallery, 112 W. Commerce St., downtown, will present a comedy night at 8 p.m. Saturday featuring headliner Joe McCormick, and Jesse Huber, Shawn Aaron and Red Litti, with host Matt O’Nesti of the Brew Crew from Youngstown State University’s Rookery Radio.

Admission is $10. There will be a cash bar to benefit the Mahoning River Consortium and Friends of the Mahoning River.
