Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in southwest Ohio is canceling an annual celebration of music and fireworks due to budget cuts.

Officials made the announcement Friday. Col. John Devillier says it was a difficult decision, but the base has been forced to direct its resources to other areas.

The event has attracted tens of thousands of people to the grounds of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force for flyovers, musical performances and fireworks.

This is the fourth time in five years that the event has been canceled. Officials haven’t made a decision on future events.
