A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown, and Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

CANFIELD

Feb. 10

Drug charges: Police arrested Paula Lapushan, 50, of West Main Street on two counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 12

Fraudulent bank accounts: Police investigated reports of fraudulent bank accounts being opened at a home on Hilltop Drive.

Feb. 19

Passing bad checks: Police arrested Keith Mitchell, 47, of Orrin Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of passing bad checks.

Drug abuse: Police arrested John Pettiford, 29, of Cassius Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Tinika Ellis, 26, of Kist Place, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear.

Feb. 20

Warrant: Police arrested Larry Sudberry, 18, of Canfield Road on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.

Drug abuse: Police arrested Carson Pope, 27, of Lockwood Boulevard, Boardman, on a charge of drug abuse.

Feb. 21

Drug abuse: Police arrested William Ortiz, 32, of Myron Street, Hubbard, on a charge of drug abuse.

Drug abuse: Police arrested Tina Sherbine, 22, of Sheridan Road, Youngstown, on a charge of drug abuse.

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 15

Warrant: Police arrested Vandetrick Jordan, 38, of Compass West apartments on a warrant claiming several traffic violations and failure to appear.

Warrant: Police arrested Michelle Shaw, 44, of Lilac Place, Warren, on a warrant for complicity to theft.

Menacing by stalking: An ex-boyfriend was stalking the victim at Pure Foods, 340 Victoria Road.

Theft: A wallet, driver’s license, Social Security card and $800 was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Briarwood Lane.

Aggravated robbery: A total of $60 was stolen at Super 8 Motel, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Two posters were stolen from a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Feb.16

Identity theft: Two accounts were opened up in the name of the victim who lives at a home in the 200 block of DeHoff Drive.

Feb. 17

Menacing by stalking: The wife of a divorcing couple accused her husband of menacing by stalking at a home in the 100 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Matthew Williams, 22, of East Wood Place, Lowellville, on a warrant for criminal damaging.

Receiving stolen property: Police arrested Brittney Taylor, 25, of Cornell Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of falsification, receiving stolen property, which included a car, and license plates. Police also arrested Taniqwa Winerson, 24, of Gaither Street, Youngstown, on charges of receiving stolen property, falsification. Both women had outstanding warrants out of Youngstown.

Feb. 18

Theft: A wallet was stolen at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 777 Hollywood Drive.

Criminal damaging: Tires on a vehicle were slashed at a home in the 30 block of South Main Street.

Fraud: Unauthorized transactions were reported on an account for a person at a home in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Warrant: Police arrested Aza Seawood, 38, of Evanston Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for theft of an Apple iPad from a Pespi Co. representative at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken out of a 2003 Buick Rendevous at a home in the 5000 block of Sterling Street.

Warrant: Police arrested Keyshawn Williams, 20, of Compass West on a warrant for misuse of a credit card, receiving stolen property and failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Charlene Vasquez, 53, of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, on a domestic-violence charge and for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Theft: A cellphone and other items were reported stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Cumberland Drive.

Recovered property: A key was left in the night deposit box at Huntington Bank, 1731 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A resident in the 6000 block of Fairview Drive reported being double billed by a sewer and drain company.

Feb. 19

Fraud: Fraudulent charges were made to an account of a person at a home in the 100 block of Mapleleaf Drive.

Theft: Money was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Callaway Circle.

Theft: Household items and furniture were stolen from a home in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

Feb. 20

Breaking and entering: Copper pipe was stolen from a house in the 100 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Feb. 21

Warrant: Police arrested Timothy Beardman, 48, of Canfield-Niles Road was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Zachary Loswego, 22, of South Inglewood Avenue on a charge of disorderly conduct after he was found wandering around and yelling for help on Kirk Road and finally on Penny Lane.

Warrant: Police arrested Heather Adriano-Parker, 42, of Kirk Road on a warrant for receiving stolen property and forgery after cashing two checks, one for $160 and another for $320 from the Dental Specialty Group.

Theft: Several electronics were stolen along with other items from a home in the 20 block of Yorkshire Boulevard.

Burglary: A snow blower was stolen from a home in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

GIRARD

Feb. 19

Aggravated menacing: A Trumbull Court man and his girlfriend alleged another woman had threatened the girlfriend, implying she would be killed.

Feb. 20

Theft: A Beechwood Drive man reported a possible prowler who had been peering in his window likely stole a set of keys.

Assault: A Girard woman told police her 10-year-old son suffered minor injuries after he had apparently intervened in a fight and was assaulted during a sleepover at a friend’s East Wilson Avenue residence.

Feb. 21

Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail arrested 26-year-old Joseph Derrico of Youngstown. He was wanted on a Girard warrant.

Threats: No charges were filed against a Girard man after his son alleged the man had threatened to harm himself, then made a general threat to harm officers.

Assault: A South Elruth Avenue man reported a woman had attempted to strike the accuser and had made several threats against him.

HUBBARD

Feb. 18

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail arrested Esteban E. Diaz of Hamilton Street, Youngstown. The 27-year-old man was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.

Feb. 19

Assault: A Hubbard man alleged another man had punched his face at a North Main Street business when the accuser had refused to take the suspect to his girlfriend’s residence.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Spring Street resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 30-year-old Joseph A. Rodriguez of Blossom Avenue, Campbell, with marijuana possession.

Feb. 20

Assault: Jonathan D. Negron, 23, of Doris Drive, Hubbard, faced a simple-assault charge after officers had responded to a fight in the 10 block of First Street, where the victim reported having been struck in the face. Beforehand, Negron apparently was angered after having been hit with a snowball, a report stated.

Child endangerment: Officers received a complaint that a 1-year-old child clad only in a diaper was outdoors in the snow on Mackey Street. The child was returned unharmed, however, and no charges had been filed at the time of the report.

Feb. 22

Menacing: A 57-year-old Hubbard man was given a criminal-trespassing warning after an employee with a North Main Street business told police someone in a silver vehicle in the drive-through had threatened to have two other men harm her.

Aggravated menacing: A Jackson Street man reported a tow-truck driver came to his home and tried to repossess what the resident said was the wrong vehicle. The driver alleged the man had pointed a handgun at him and ordered him off the property.

LIBERTY

Feb. 17

Bad check: A worker for a Youngstown plumbing company told officers a Colonial Drive man wrote him a bad $3,761 check for services rendered.

Theft: A Girard woman reported her $650 iPhone stolen while at a Goldie Road big-box store.

Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a 24-year-old Youngstown man after his girlfriend, of Monticello Boulevard, alleged he had smacked her face, repeatedly kicked the accuser’s midsection and slammed her head into the floor during an argument.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to the arrests of 19-year-old Cory R. Magazzine of Pulaski, Pa., on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, underage consumption of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, along with 19-year-old Mackenzie L. Brightshue of New Castle, Pa., on charges of underage consumption of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. Two suspected marijuana pipes and a nearly full gallon of vodka were found, a report showed.

Feb. 18

Arrests: While investigating suspicious activity near Belmont Avenue and Motor Inn Drive, officers charged a Boardman boy, 16, and a 17-year-old Campbell girl with various juvenile offenses and obstructing official business. The teens provided false names, ages and dates of birth, police said.

Burglary: To a home in the 100 block of Euclid Boulevard through the front door. Roughly $300 worth of assorted jewelry was taken.

Feb. 19

Arrest: Stefan Breedlove, 55, of Stewart Avenue, Youngstown, was picked up at the Mahoning County jail on two township warrants.

Citation: Police answered a call regarding two unwanted people at a Belmont Avenue restaurant, where they issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 25-year-old Adam R. McLane of Kenneth Street, Youngstown, with disorderly conduct. An intoxicated McLane refused to leave, used profanity and caused a scene, a report said.

Domestic violence: Jeffrey A. Taylor, 27, of Logan Way, Liberty, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged that during an argument, Taylor had smashed a wooden table, then used a table leg to strike her left thigh and knee.

Identity fraud: A Northlawn Drive man learned that his credit card had been used without authorization to make $1,254 worth of fraudulent charges at several area stores and gas stations.

Feb. 20

Arrest: Police picked up 23-year-old Timothy Underwood at the Mahoning County jail. Underwood, of Douglas Avenue, Youngstown, was accused of failing to appear in court.

Drugs: Suspicious activity in the 200 block of Colonial Drive caught officers’ attention before they charged a 17-year-old Vienna boy with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. A device commonly used to grind marijuana, a half-smoked marijuana cigar and torn bags with suspected marijuana residue were found, police alleged.

Domestic violence: Tiawan T. Clinkscale, 26, of Wesley Avenue, Youngstown, faced a charge after a woman alleged Clinkscale had struck her face during a fight at a business in the 3600 block of Belmont Avenue.

Auto theft: A 2004 Dodge vehicle was stolen in the 3000 block of Northgate Drive.

Feb. 21

Drugs: A traffic stop on West Gypsy Lane resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 19-year-old Kayla A. Smith with marijuana possession after police alleged Smith, of Riverview Drive, Warren, had a bag of suspected marijuana.

Theft: Authorities charged 42-year-old Eric Gladhill of Church Hill Road, Youngstown, with theft, child endangerment and disorderly conduct after a $2 snack item was stolen from a Speedway gas station, 4210 Belmont Ave. An intoxicated Gladhill, who also was wanted on a felony domestic-violence warrant, had a child with him during the theft, then tried to pull away from officers during the arrest, a report showed.

Arrest: Frank Lemp of Mansell Drive, Liberty, was taken into custody after authorities had pulled him over near his residence. The 27-year-old Lemp was wanted on a Weathersfield Township warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Theft: A woman discovered a .22-caliber handgun missing from her Logan Way apartment.

Theft: A Youngstown woman shopping at a Goldie Road big-box store noticed $160 missing from her wallet she had temporarily misplaced.

Feb. 22

Theft by deception: A Poland woman reported someone with access to an Arms Drive residence she owns stole $5,100 worth of property, including jewelry.

Aggravated menacing: Several charges were pending against a 33-year-old Youngstown man after his former girlfriend, of Powers Avenue, alleged he had refused to allow her to leave a vehicle while in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, pointed a semiautomatic firearm at the accuser and threatened to kill her.
