Katie Yazvac and Kirk Johnson exchanged vows at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 2, 2015, at Bay Mountain at the Homestead Resort in a ceremony officiated by the groom’s father. A reception followed at Camp Firefly at the resort.

Thomas and Diane Yazvac of Boardman are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Leroy Johnson and Debbie Duckworth of Lowell, Mich.

The bride wore a strapless ivory satin gown with a corset back.

Wearing black dresses were honor attendant Darla Wilson, and bridesmaids Randi and Kristi Yazvac, sisters of the bride, and Carolyn Johnson, sister of the groom.

Michael Osterhaven performed duties of best man and Rean Bush, Matthew Davis and Michael Lott were groomsmen. Ushers were Joshua Duckworth, George Kubas and Jesse Platt.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Youngstown State University and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Michigan State University. She works at Family Friends Veterinary Clinic in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she specializes in small animal veterinary medicine.

Her husband also attended MSU, where received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree. He is the owner of Classic Equine LLC in Saranac, Mich., and specializes as a horse veterinarian.

The Johnsons took a wedding trip to the Virgin Islands. They have made their home in Saranac.
