Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral was the setting of the 2:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2015, wedding that joined Katelyn Veltri and Dr. Troy A. Gessner in marriage. The Revs. Demetrios Gardikes, Dean Kokanos and John Stavropoulos of the cathedral and the Rev. Tom Constantine of St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman solemnized the ceremony. A reception followed at The Blackwell.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple live in Columbus, Ga.

Mrs. Gessner is the daughter of Louis Veltri of Westerville, Ohio, and Kathleen Veltri of HIlliard, Ohio. Her husband is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Larry J. Gessner of Canfield.

The bride wore a strapless white lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and beaded embellishments in a fit and flare style that featured ribbon tulle layers.

The bride’s cousin, Alexandra Iverson, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kinsey Hogue; Lauren Walker, the groom’s sister; Ashley Brannon; Maddie Vogel; Sydney Shepherd; Meredith Veltri, the bride’s sister-in-law; and Zoe Filutowski, the groom’s cousin. Stella Veltri, the bride’s niece, was flower girl. The attendants wore champagne-colored lace dresses.

Sebastian and Oliver Filutowski, the groom’s cousins, shared duties of best man. Groomsmen were Jake Walker, the groom’s brother-in-law; Ryan Sopko; Erik Nesbit; David Snider; and Steven and Brian Veltri, the bride’s brothers.

The koumbaroi for the Gessners was Dr. and Mrs. Konrad Filutowski, the aunt and uncle and godparents of the groom.

Mrs. Gessner holds a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Edwards Family Dental in Dublin, Ohio.

Her husband graduated from Muskingum University and earned a doctor of dental surgery degree at OSU College of Dentistry. He is completing a 12-month advanced education general dentistry residency with the U.S. Army in Fort Benning, Ga. He is a captain in the Army Dental Corps in Columbus, Ga.
