Pa. police say suspect turns sob stories into rob stories
NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Police in at least two western Pennsylvania towns are looking for a man who turns sob stories into rob stories.
So far, 42-year-old Jackie Lee Williams, of Arnold, is charged in only one such caper.
New Kensington police say he asked a man for a ride in Harrison Township – a community across the Allegheny River – claiming that his daughter had been beaten up. He offered to pay the man for the ride, but when they arrived at a convenience store parking lot where the Good Samaritan was to let Williams out of his car, police say Williams pulled a gun and took money and credit cards from the man.
That happened Feb. 20. Police in Tarentum, another nearby community, say Williams is a person of interest in some robberies there, too.
