Austintown library hosted a “Frozen” themed Valentine’s Day party on Feb. 6. Librarian Ashley Potopovich worked on putting the event together with help from fellow librarian Lyndsay Cramer.
Crafts were set up on several tables, along with various Valentine’s Day activities, that stayed in the “Frozen” movie theme. Music from the “Frozen” soundtrack also played in the background. The music was part of the musical hearts game that the children played by mainly dancing around the hearts.
Another game was set up for children to throw a ball in a basket. There was also a station for the children to play and build with sand. Books and props about the movie, like a castle and an Olaf doll, were set up for the guests to check out and to take pictures next to.
One of the things the children enjoyed was the chocolate fountain. Pretzels, marshmallows and strawberries were available for the guests to dip in the fountain to eat.
Many of the families regularly attend the different programs at the library. One of the guests said the children they babysit ask to come to the library all the time so they can have fun and be a part all of the different events that are hosted.
The Austintown library hosts several events around the holidays for children and their families to participate in. The library provides snacks, games and music, and are always a fun time for the children and other guests who attend.
