The Boardman library celebrated the Super Bowl a day early on Feb. 6 with snacks, Madden and various other football related activities.
Boardman librarian Allison Graff helped put the event together for teens to participate in. She set up the Madden football video game for Xbox and chips, cookies, drinks and pizza for everyone to eat. A Super Bowl prediction sheet was also on hand for the teens to fill out, including such guesses as who would win, what the score would be, what color Gatorade would be dumped on the coach and other aspects of the game.
Timmy Case, one of the boys who attended the event, said he goes to a lot of the library programs the other libraries in Mahoning County.
“I come to the library a whole lot, even to events where no one is likely to be here,” said Case.
Between Case and his little sister, his family goes to the library very often to participate in the different programs that each library has to offer. Case said he likes to go to the library more for the events rather than for the books to check out.
“Pretty much all football events are my favorite, I love football,” said Case.
Spending time at the Boardman library for this event was a great way to prepare for the real Super Bowl the next day. The guests could root for their favorite team while enjoying the company of other sports fans.
