EGCC gets grant for machining and welding program

YOUNGSTOWN -- A $ 10,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation will help Eastern Gateway Community College's machining and welding program.

The check was presented this morning at a news conference at EGCC 's Valley Center.

EGCC President Jimmie Bruce said the college is working with the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coailtion and Youngstown State University to fill the skills gap in the Valley with welders and machinists.
